RCDA Inclement Weather Policy
By the nature of our rentals at local public schools, we follow Montgomery County policy for Community Activities in schools.

From MCPS:
“Community activities in school buildings will occur, as scheduled.”

Make-up Class Policy: You can make up any missed lessons (due to inclement weather, illness, travel, etc.) in another class of a similar level on a different day at any time. There is no expiration date for making up missed classes.

All dance classes at all locations are canceled today, Tuesday, February 17th, 2015.

Due to a water main break near Pyle Middle School, the school is closed and therefore, RCDA must cancel all Friday classes today, 1/9/15. We apologize for the late notice, but only found out upon our arrival at Pyle.

The following classes are canceled today:
-Intro to Cecchetti I with Tap
-Cecchetti II
-Intermediate Jazz

Are you looking for some holiday joy? Would you love to experience The Nutcracker first-hand? Come join us as we transform the Pyle Middle School dance studio into a Winter Wonderland and bring The Nutcracker to life! Miss Christina will call upon her 9+ years of Nutcracker performance experience as she retells the magical holiday story and then, with Miss Diana’s assistance, leads dancers in age-appropriate excerpts from the ballet. Dancers will flit about the studio as Sugar Plum Fairies, Spanish Chocolate, and Dainty Snow Fairies, among other delights from the famous ballet. Our teen students will learn pieces which will be added to RCDA’s performance repertoire, to be performed at future public events!

Parents will be invited to watch a mini, impromptu Nutcracker performance at the end of each workshop and every participant will receive a special Nutcracker swag bag! In addition, all attendees will be automatically entered in RCDA’s holiday gift drawing. Grand prize is a gift card to Footlights Dance and Theatre Boutique! Other gifts include RCDA apparel and holiday treats.

Rock Creek Dance Academy is very excited to announce that we are now in lease negotiations with Montgomery Parks for the adaptive reuse of the Maplewood-Alta Vista Park Activity Building located at 5209 Alta Vista Road in Bethesda. Our proposal to convert the park building to a dance studio was selected by the Parks Commission, and we now enter the negotiation process.

Montgomery Parks will hold a public meeting regarding our proposed reuse of the park building on Wednesday, December 3, 2014 from 7:00-8:00pm at the park. If all goes according to plan, we hope to begin programming in the space by late spring or early summer.
